On October 31st, I went out trick-or-treating with a few of my friends in the neighborhood. On the corner of one street, a small tiny candy shop was getting ready to open for business sometime in December. They were announcing they were hiring as they were passing out candy, of course. So the very next day (literally 16 days ago) I applied for a Candy Concierge position. It seemed like a fun position, and the major perk about it was the location. It would literally take me 5 minutes to walk to work from my house!
Within the next few days I received a call from the store owners agent asking if I would be interested in going in for an interview. “Heck yeah!” I said. Don’t worry, my response was a tad more formal than that. Anyway, I went in, met the store owner, and fell in love with the idea of working with an entrepreneur. I would be doing so much more than I do now in my current job, which if you all don’t know, I’m a barista/bookseller at Barnes & Noble.
A few days after the interview, I receive another call from her agent letting me know that I was a perfect fit for their team! I was also offered a paying rate higher than what I am currently getting paid, due to my experience. Totally rad, right?
So yeah, as I type this, I only have until the 25th for my last day at B&N then I start a new adventure in my life.
