Happy Saturday everyone! Well today started off just swell! I am currently sitting in the Volkswagen dealership because my car had broken down last night, and now it needs urgent care.
It’s fine though. I’d rather spend a lot of money on something that actually needs the investment as to things I really don’t need. I can probably eat my own words though because not too long ago, I purchased a trinocular microscope. That’s different though, right? I’m pursuing my passion for science! If you see it that way, then you may be able to dismiss the fact that purchasing that microscope wiped out my wallet clean.
On another note, this is the first Saturday I have off from both work and school. So I’m a little lost on what to actually do with my spare time. Hence why I’m actually able to write another blog post within the same week! Yaaass. Usually its difficult for me to even write multiple posts in the same month, but I’m working on fixing that.
So here are some pretty cool events happening in the Seattle area. Cherry Glazerr is coming to town! Cherry Glazerr is a rock band from Los Angeles, California that formed in 2013. I’m not too sure what genre they fall under, but their music has that punk-about-to-start-a-revolution/beach vibe. Their music is pretty bad ass, and if you’re into all that punk/surfer type of music then you should definitely check them out! I’m sure you won’t regret it. They’re playing their new album, Apocalipstick at the Capitol Hill block party on July 21st! Save the date!
Another band that’s coming to Seattle is Tigers Jaw. Tigers Jaw formed in Scranton, Pennsylvania in 2005. This band is especially important to me because during my big move from Texas To Washington, they were all I listened to (well them and Hail The Sun, but that’s another story). Tigers Jaw genres fall under indie rock, pop punk, and emo (according to Wikipedia). My favorite album of theirs would have to be their self titled album. They’ll be performing in Seattle on June 10th, so if you go, say hi to me! If you’re not residing in Seattle (or anywhere in Washington) please check out their tour dates! Check to see if they’ll be performing in your town (or any close by to you, because road trips are always fun, right?). Go to listen to some awesome music, meet cool people, and have a great time!
In my previous post I already informed you all on the pride march taking place in Capitol Hill on June 11th. Though, I’ll just say it again, you should definitely go to support your LGBTQ community! Especially in times like these, where it feels like everything is going backwards, and discrimination feels like its overcoming unity. Go to show some love!
I hope everyone has a great weekend! Let me remind you that Memorial day is not a time for us to have that fun, three day weekend, but to remember those that have lost their lives fighting for this country. We should all give those men and women a moment of silence to pay our respects.
Until next time!
